Does it work for black dogs?

Yes. Black and dark dogs work well as lithophanes, where the light shows the shape of their face. If the photo is very dark, nudge the brightness up in the studio and check the preview with the light on.

Can I include two dogs?

Yes, if they're close together in the photo. Crop in so both faces fill the frame. The larger size keeps more detail when there's more than one face.

Does the lithophane come with a light?

You can add our LED light stand at checkout, from £8. It holds the panel upright and lights it from behind with a warm white or colour-changing USB light, and it's printed in the colour you choose. Without the stand, a bright window or a lamp behind the panel works well too.

How long does delivery take?

We print every order in our Manchester workshop and post it within 5 working days. Tracked delivery usually takes 1 to 3 working days after that, and it's free on orders over £30.

Choosing the photo

Get down to their eye level and fill the frame with their face.
Daylight from a window gives the best fur detail. Avoid flash, which flattens the face.
A plain background (a sofa, a lawn, a wall) keeps the focus on the dog.
Sharp eyes matter most. Pick the photo where the eyes are crisp.
